The Scent
Sweet, sharp, and intoxicating, Madurai jasmine carries a character entirely its own. Creamy and green with a subtle edge of spice, its fragrance unfolds slowly. More than floral, it is layered, nostalgic, and unmistakably local.
The vessel is offered in two etched interpretations: one marked by the geographic coordinates of Madurai, grounding the scent in place; the other inscribed with our own reading of malli, a distilled definition.
The Process
Inspired by jasmine grown in the red soil of Tamil Nadu, this candle draws from the scent that drapes cotton sarees, fills temple queues, and lives on in memory. Blooming at dawn and deepening by dusk, Madurai malli is translated here through an original Studio Madras Finds design, a quiet homage to a flower shaped by place, time, and ritual.
