From Madras to the World 💌

South India holds extraordinary depth. Its crafts, foodways, textiles, languages, and mythologies are richly layered, yet often underrepresented. For us, the South is not a single story but a constellation of regions, rituals, and ways of living that continue to shape everyday life.

This work is a considered voyage, from the flora and fauna of the Nilgiris to the folklores of Karnataka and the landscapes of Kerala, from coastal kitchens to inland rituals, guided by curiosity rather than conclusion. We collaborate with artisans, communities, and custodians of tradition to shape a living culture that evolves naturally through everyday objects.

Our aim is to present a way of living through objects, flavours, and stories, seen through a South Indian lens. We are for the culturally curious, those who wish to observe, learn, and carry a meaningful piece of South India into their own lives, wherever they are in the world.

Culture is not preserved by one voice; it evolves through many.

Our Material & Cultural Philosophy

How does a way of living stay present as the world moves on?

Drawn from markets, rituals, kitchens, and coastlines, our purpose is to shape how culture lives in the everyday-sometimes through a subtle motif, and often through something less literal.

We source our materials with deep thought and care, choosing only high-quality, responsibly made components that honour the integrity of our craft.

We value longevity over trend, clarity over excess, and cultural intelligence over ornament: ensuring future generations inherit more than stories.

A Note...

Growing up in Madras, I was drawn to art, stories, and the small details of everyday life. My design intuition comes from observation, from finding beauty in the mundane. Training in classical art forms from a young age introduced me to storytelling as structure and expression, and continues to shape how I approach design. Spending time travelling and living abroad made me increasingly aware of how little is known about the depth and diversity of South Indian culture, even within India. Often viewed as a homogeneous idea, the South is far more layered. Madras Finds exists to bridge that gap by reimagining objects from the past for today, and recognising everyday forms that carry culture naturally—rooted, yet contemporary.
